Role description

Tellyo requires for immediate start a Head of PR, Marketing and Comms.

Tellyo is a leading solutions provider in the cloud-based editing, clipping, streaming and production of Live Video services market. We have teams based in the UK and Poland, and as is the way with many start-ups we are nibble and like to move very quickly.

We require a Head of PR, Marketing and Comms to effectively create and manage PR and Marketing campaigns across Print, Digital and Events; and to address internal and existing client communications. The role is very much a doing role, so candidates must excel at writing as well as planning and have excellent time management. We have an immediate need to create and publish PR, to establish the right processes, and build a significant PR distribution list for ket markets as well as ensuring all content it pushing content through our website & social channels.

As we are in the process of a significant structural change, this role will start as a contracting role for three months and evolve into the permanent position. The role is based in the company’s Croydon offices, and from September we are returning to the office one day per week – to improve communications and planning; the proportion office to remote working will gradually decrease over the coming months back to 4 days (we are a work from home Friday company).

As mentioned above at the beginning the role will require, some tactical work to put in place a good PR plan and processes to support the timely publishing on PR around deal wons, partnerships launched as well as an effective digital marketing campaign around Google Adwords.

Also, building internal communications and processes to communicate with the user around new platform updates and feature releases/upgrades and product launches.

Once these are established and running smoothly, it will be on to planning for a sound external marketing strategy, internal comms plan and ownership of the customer communications around product updates, user guidances and feature launches. So the person should have experience of building and managing a small multi-discipline team of people to enable the delivery of all the requirements to a high standard and in a timely fashion.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of commercial experience and Keys skills in PR, content creation, Digital Marketing and Event planning, as well as being able to work a tight deadline. The individual should be experienced in Social and Digital Media, will need to have experience of SAAS and ideally will have a good knowledge of Digital Video, Broadcast and production technologies.


  • All aspects of daily management for the PR & Marketing Department.
  • Manage ongoing messaging and communication channels for the companies enterprise customers to keep them informed of products and essential company information.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with freelancers, PR and communications agencies who form part of the current strategy.
  • Develop innovative digital media marketing strategies including search engine optimisation, video and social media and email marketing campaigns.
  • Create targeted and cost-effective multi-channel marketing campaigns for generating high-quality leads.
  • Create clear and compelling product descriptions with well-articulated features, benefits and clear differentiation from other products in the marketplace.
  • Develop marketing collateral and sales tools like brochures, presentations and proposals.
  • Planning for, and management of the company’s presence at industry events and conferences.
  • Work closely with the CEO to design and implement an effective PR and marketing strategy/processes.
  • Work closely with other team members on company projects.
  • Ensure that brand guidelines are adhered to in all marketing activities across the company.
  • Planning for, and management of the company’s presence at industry events and conferences.
  • Recruitment of new marketing team members, to support the strategy.
  • Define and validate the business positioning, value proposition and branding.


  • A strong understanding of effective PR, Comms and Marketing.
  • Previous experience in a similar position is essential, ideally from a company providing a B2B SaaS solution provider, servicing a similar market.
  • A track record of building measurable B2B programs and marketing communications efforts that deliver against business goals.
  • Strong understanding and experience of working within a SAAS based company.
  • An ability to drive PR & marketing strategy, processes and execute marketing plans.
  • Experience of implementing a strategy into different international markets.
  • Up to date, knowledge of marketing best practice and an eye for creative PR & marketing opportunities.
  • A self-starter with the drive to deliver results around a shared vision.
  • An ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • At least five years of commercial experience.
  • Ideally, degree qualified or above.
